The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has arrested a notorious illegal drugs dealer in a raid in Bacolod City last week.
NBI Officer-In-Charge Atty. Nonnatus Caesar Rojas identified the arrested suspect as King Bautista, alias “Ike” who was convicted for violation of RA 6425 (Anti-Illegal Drugs Act), Robbery, and Attempted Homicide. He also has a pending case of another robbery at a Regional Trial Court in Bacolod City.
The NBI Bacolod District Office (BACDO), headed by Head Agent Ferdinand Lavin, said an unlicensed caliber .45 firearm was recovered from Bautista during the operation. The raid was in cooperation with the PNP-Bacolod City who helped in securing the area. However, King tried to shoot it out with the operatives who raided his house.
The raid yielded several drugs paraphernalia, proceeds of the sale of illegal drugs and two (2) plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu. Also seized were documents and bank records, which may be evidence of the illegal drugs transactions.
