Aquino appoints Dellosa as new Chief of Staff

MANILA –- President Aquino III has formally appointed Lt. General Jessie Dellosa as the new Armed Forces Chief of Staff during turnover rites at the Armed Forces Headquarters in Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City.

Dellosa replaced Gen. Eduardo Oban Jr. who will turn 56 on Tuesday (December 13).

A native of Bacon, Sorsogon, Dellosa belongs to the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class 1979.

Dellosa is currently the chief of the Northern Luzon Command. Before that, he served as commander of the Army’s 2nd Infantry Division and deputy commander of Central Command of the AFP.

Dellosa is a recipient of numerous awards topped by Distinguished Service Star, two Wounded Personnel Medal, two Gold Cross Medal, thirty-nine Military Merit Medal, six Bronze Cross Medal, Long Service Medal, Marksmanship Badge Expert, Outstanding Achievement Medal and the coveted the Outstanding Achievement Award for Military Operations of the PMA Alumni Association.
