Las Piñas pawnshop burglarized

MANILA – Unidentified suspects broke into a pawnshop in Las Piñas City Monday (December 26), seizing PhP850,000 worth of gadgets, jewelry, and cash on Monday.

Reports said the employees of the Le-An Pawnshop at Unit 3, CAC Building along CAA Road in Pulang Lupa Dos found a hole in their vault when they opened for business at around 9 a.m.

Senior Police Officer 1 Jose Avitria said initial investigation showed that a tunnel was dug, leading to the vault, from the third unit of the building that had been on lease since October to another business.

But the suspects decided to just tear down the walls of the unit they were renting and those of the unit next to the pawnshop when they thought they might have hit a septic tank while digging the tunnel. Avitria said the pawnshop did not have a security guard nor did it use security gadgets.
