PDEA Nabs Batangas Drug Queen and Iligan Notorious Pusher

MANILA, Philippines—Two notorious drug personalities were nabbed by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in separate operations.

PDEA operatives arrested 65-year-old Violeta Contreras Vallecer, dubbed as the Batangas Drug Queen, by virtue of a search warrant according to Director Loricel Cabales of PDEA-Calabarzon. Four houses in Barangay Tanglayan, San Pacual, Batangas were searched by authorities leading to the suspect’s capture.

While Vallecer denied the allegation, the operatives were able to recover seven bulks of shabu sachets and cash amounting to Php40,000 along with some drug paraphernalia and foreign currency. She was later brought to Camp Vicente Lim in Laguna facing charges under Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2012.

Meanwhile, Director General of PDEA, Undersecretary Arturo Cacdac, Jr., reported the arrest of 30-year-old Mike Mapandi, another notorious drug personality in Lanao del Norte and Iligan City, ranking first among those enlisted on “PDEA Order of Battle in Northern Mindanao.”

He was captured during a buy-bust operation in Pabayo-San Agustin St., Cagayan de Oro City on December 9. Arrested along with the suspect is his cohort identified as Roberto Quimpo, 56, also known as Bobby, who happens to be among the target list of drug personalities in Misamis Oriental.

PDEA agents found six sachets of 11.6g shabu and a Yamaha motorcycle with plate number 5756 TL in the possession of the arrested suspects.

As of the moment, Mapandi and Quimpo were temporarily jailed in a PDEA facility charged for violation of Section 5 and Section 11 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, particularly sale and possession of dangerous drugs.
