AESSCCI: Notorious hotel gang leader, 3 others arrested

Four suspected members of the notorious hotel thieves identified by the police as the KASKAS Gang have been arrested by the Eastern Metro Manila Criminal Investigation & Detection Team-NCR (EMM-CIDT) headed by PCI Reynante Galang and under the overall leadership of P/CSUPT Miguel Laurel, the Eastern Police District Director, in coordination with the members of the AESSCCI (Accommodation Establishments Security and Safety Coordinating Council, Inc.) and one of its member hotel in Ortigas area, The Linden Suites.

Arrested were Paulo Jesus C. Domingo and 3 others including a woman on July 16, 2013, at The Linden Suites, for violation of RA 8484, the Access Devices Regulation Act of 1998; RA 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002; and PD 1866, as amended by RA 8294 for illegal possession of firearms, ammunition, and explosive device.

The KASKAS Gang has been suspected to have started their stealing / robbing spree since 2012 when suspect Paulo Jesus C. Domingo a.k.a. Daniel Spinner checked-in through online booking at Joya Loft in Rockwell Makati and stole hotel properties found in the room in cohort with several unidentified companions. The suspect went on to check-in in different hotels through fraudulent online booking and stole hotel properties which included flat TVs, bracket, etc, and even aircon cover at one time, using different ID cards and names.

A long list of hotels victimized by the KASKAS gang included hotels located in the following cities:  Manila, Pasay, Makati, Pasig, Mandaluyong, Muntinlupa, Quezon City, and as far Tagaytay and Lipa cities, almost with impunity.

A month prior to the arrest, June 13, 2013, AESSCCI headed by Danny Pineda, in a peace and order meeting with the members of the Eastern Police District and 4 Police Stations, requested help in the capture and arrest of alias Daniel Spinner and his cohorts.

The victimized accommodation establishments have coordinated with the EMM-CIDT in the filing of criminal complaints against the suspects following the arrest.
