Scenes on the Road: From Sorsogon to Leyte

SecurityMatters visited the calamity-stricken areas on November 13 to 15 via land and sea transport to document the mayhem caused by Super Typhoon Yolanda (international name: Haiyan) on November 8, 2013.

Travel from Manila to Tacloban, Leyte took about 36 hours which included waiting time at the port in Matnog, Sorsogon. It was slightly easier returning back to Manila. But it doesn’t really make sense to complain about the long and arduous travel as compared to what our eyes have seen and ears have heard.

So as part of our goal to give you the latest on what is happening in these areas, we’ve captured photos along the way. The gallery will be updated from time to time as we continue our coverage.
