Iloilo Bust Nets Over P1 Million in Shabu, Three Suspects Arrested

Iloilo police have made a significant dent in the province’s illegal drug trade with a successful buy-bust operation in Guimbal on Saturday, April 6th. The operation yielded over P1 million worth of suspected shabu and the arrest of three individuals.

Joint forces from the Iloilo Provincial Police Office-Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (IPPO-PDEU) and the Guimbal Municipal Police Station conducted the sting operation. Three suspects, identified as Kirk (34), George, and Ryan, were apprehended after selling shabu worth P20,000 to an undercover officer. Authorities have designated Kirk as a high-value individual (HVI) within the local drug trade, highlighting the importance of this bust.

A thorough search of the suspects yielded a total of 150 grams of suspected shabu. This seizure represents a substantial blow to drug trafficking activities in the area, removing a significant amount of illegal narcotics from circulation.

Police Leadership Commends Officers, Renews Commitment

Police Regional Office-6 chief Brigadier General Jack Wanky, and Iloilo police Director, Colonel Ronaldo Palomo, commended the operating units for their successful operation. General Wanky reiterated the ongoing commitment to eradicating drug trafficking in the Western Visayas region, stating, “Let us be more committed and dedicated to achieving a drug-free Western Visayas; together in unity, the end of this drug peddlers will come to an end.”

This recent bust serves as a testament to the ongoing efforts of Iloilo law enforcement to combat the illegal drug trade. With the removal of this substantial amount of shabu and the apprehension of key figures, the operation represents a positive step towards a safer community
