Typhoon Luis (international name: Kalmaegi) has existed the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) Monday morning but has left three persons dead and three others injured, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said.
According to NDRRMC, 1,723 families or 7,801 persons have been displaced by “Luis” in Luzon.
Although the typhoon has left PAR, it continues to affect several areas as a result of enhanced monsoon rains, weather bureau PAGASA said.
Storm Signal No. 1 is still raised in the provinces of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Abra and Pangasinan.
In Metro Manila, light to moderate rains will still persist in the next three hours. Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Pampanga, Rizal, Quezon, Bulacan, Cavite, and Batangas are likewise expected to experience rainshowers.
PAGASA also said a new Low Pressure Area (LPA) is expected to enter PAR within the week.
