The Women in Security Alliance Philippines (WiSAP) participated in the DICT–CICC Stakeholders Town Hall Meeting as part of its commitment to advancing cybersecurity, online safety, and responsible digital practices in the Philippines.

As an organization that brings together professionals in security and related fields, WiSAP recognizes the importance of protecting children in digital spaces while upholding privacy, civil liberties, and responsible technology use.

Representing WiSAP, Board Member Mr. Ace Esmeralda shared insights on understanding the digital environments where children spend their time. He emphasized that technology, games, and messaging platforms are not inherently harmful; the greater challenge is preventing malicious actors from exploiting them. He also highlighted the potential of behavioral analysis and AI as complementary tools in detecting online threats.

The consultation also explored age assurance, platform accountability, parental controls, digital literacy, and lawful traceability as part of efforts toward a safer digital environment for Filipino children.

WiSAP remains committed to supporting collaborative, privacy-conscious solutions for a safer digital Philippines.
