The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) today said an Active Low Pressure Area (ALPA) has been spotted at 330 kilometers east of Borongan, Eastern Samar.

The ALPA is embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) that is affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

Because of this, the regions will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms, “becoming cloudy with widespread rains over the eastern section of Visayas and of Mindanao, which may trigger flashfloods and landslides.”

“The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms,” Pagasa said.

Meanwhile, light to moderate winds blowing from the North to Northwest will prevail over Luzon and coming from the southwest to west over Visayas and Mindanao. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate.
